All of the entrants are assessed using a specially developed system of key performance indicators by the press, PwC Austria and creditor protection association KSV1870. This results in a ranking seen as the “Oscars of Austrian industry”. Prangl has been represented since the competition began.

In 2024, the company succeeded in gaining 12th place in the Vienna ranking in the “Large companies” category. Once again, Prangl also came 45th in Austria as a whole. In all, around 300 companies accepted the ALC challenge this year.

The Hermes business award is one of the most important awards in Austria and recognises those companies that have a lasting impact on the Austrian economy. The decisive factors are net turnover, operating income, equity, export share and the number of employees over the last three years.

An independent panel of experts is responsible for analysing all submissions. Based on the company figures, it first determines the nominees and then the winners in the individual categories. There are nine categories in total: Services, Family Business, Women-led Business, Retail, Property, Industry, International, Logistics, Tourism. The "Entrepreneur of the Year" prize of honour and the special prizes for employer branding and climate protection are also awarded.

"In recognition of outstanding business achievements", Prangl was nominated by the jury in the Family Business category. This not only makes us proud, but also shows that we are on the right track. Christian Prangl: "We are very pleased about the nomination and see it as a tribute to our employees and their daily achievements. And, of course, it is an incentive for our future endeavours."

According to the globally renowned trade publication, ”International Cranes”, the family business from Austria is among the best crane rental companies in the world. Coming in at 30, we are the only representative from Austria inside the top 30. The annual evaluation from the magazine ”Kran & Bühne” shows a similar picture. In the German-speaking regions, Prangl is ranked 8th among the top 10 crane rental corporations. We’ve even taken 7th place in the “Crawler cranes” category in the German-speaking regions.

When it comes to the aerial work platform sector, the situation is equally pleasing. According to ”Kran & Bühne”, which awarded Prangl 12th place, Prangl is also top in Germany, Austria and Switzerland. At 8th place in both the “Scissor lifts” and “Telehandlers” subcategories, we are also in the top 10 of the industry leaders in the German-speaking regions. Prangl was also included in the "Access International" magazine's evaluation. Every year, the world's largest aerial work platform rental companies are rated here. Coming in at 53rd, we are again the only representative from Austria in the International comparison.

This award is organised by the European trade association ESTA and is one of the most important events in the heavy-duty transport, crane hire, heavy haulage and work platform hire sectors. Every year, companies can enter their projects and developments in ten categories, which are then assessed by 12 independent expert judges from various European countries. This year, 67 companies took part in the competition – including Prangl for the first time in the three categories.

In the first year, the company was already among the finalists in two categories (safety and training). We are delighted to announce that Prangl has now won 1st place in the "Training" category. The "BePrangl" employee development programme, which was launched a few years ago, was thus duly honoured. Every year, almost all employees receive targeted and topic-relevant training and further education at the in-house training and development campus. This encourages us to continue on our chosen path of high service quality.
