To make Corona vaccination as easy as possible for all employees, a mass vaccination site was set up at our headquarters.
With regard to occupational health care, in December 2021 Prangl employees were given the opportunity to be voluntarily vaccinated against COVID-19 at work. Employees who were interested were able to get their first, second or third jab at the Prangl headquarters in Vienna. For this purpose, one of the modern meeting rooms was transformed into a mass vaccination site over two days. The vaccination was carried out by our occupational health physician. They were supported administratively by staff from the HSEQ department.
The vaccination programme was a great success. Numerous employees took up this voluntary offer. We are proud to have taken this step towards making the Prangl world a safer place, in addition to our regular TBE and flu vaccinations.
Prangl Driver Days
Under the name "Driver-Days” (Fahrer-Days in German), we would like to provide job seekers with an insight into our everyday work.
For the first time, we opened three of our Austrian depots to interested applicants. The global shortage of skilled workers is making us inventive. In October 2021, interested parties were able to gain a live on-site impression of our working world in Vienna, Premstätten and St. Florian.
All three days of the event provided a chance to talk to our experts, try out a few yellow devices and enjoy some snacks. Speed interviews were a fitting framework to find out more about each other. It also gave you the opportunity to apply directly on the spot. The whole thing was rounded off with a varied playlist that put all participants in a good mood.
"The accents we set not only brought great joy, but also a great deal of success", Christian Prangl is pleased about this recruiting campaign. Some interested candidates have already completed their trial day with us and learned even more about the job. Already seven talented people interested by the Driver Days have been welcomed into the company with a permanent position.
Since the demand for more "Driver Days" is so great, we have decided on another series of events in 2022. "We carry out extremely exciting work every day and are pleased to convey this fascination to as many applicants as possible", Mr Prangl is convinced of the path he has chosen. In 2022, we will open up the target group even further. Interested persons for all our jobs and areas are to be addressed. We are already looking forward to many talented employees and new team members.
Would you like to register now for next year's Prangl Recruiting Days? Then we look forward to receiving your application by e-mail at jobs@prangl.at. Simply enter "Recruiting Day 2022" in the subject line, send in your application documents and name the position you are interested in. We are looking forward to meeting you!
VIENNA LEAD TIMES
From 01/11/2021, new lead times will apply for mobile crane operations in Vienna.
Amended regulations are coming into force for mobile crane work in the municipal area of Vienna with immediate effect. These are binding according to the responsible municipal department and the 1967 Austrian Motor Vehicles Act.
Based on the new framework conditions, from 01/11/2021 we must submit an application for individual approval in accordance with § 40 (3) of the 1967 Austrian Motor Vehicles Act for every crane deployment - regardless of the crane class and the deployment location in Vienna.
As a result, you must expect new lead times of approx. 6 weeks. From today's perspective, this is how long it will take the authorities to process the individual application.
We ask you to take this into account in your project planning. If you have any questions about the effects of the new situation on your project implementation and conditions, your Prangl account manager will be happy to clarify the details with you in a face-to-face meeting. Please take this opportunity to continue to find the most economical solution with our support in the future.
We look forward to continued good cooperation!
Road to Success
In the video series "Roads to success" Hermann Maier visits Austrian companies. This time he visited Prangl.
Raiffeisen has been presenting the personal success stories of Austrian entrepreneurs for several years. Every month, extraordinary and innovative companies are brought to the stage.
This time, Hermann Maier's team were guests at Prangl. On the day, he was able to try his hand at driving a crane, went up in a 27-metre scissor lift and was able to steer a 10-axle heavy load module with a wing transport device.
With a lot of skill and enthusiasm, the former ski star spent a varied and innovative day in the company of the yellow experts.
Prangl has again been recognised as one of the top companies in the international crane and aerial work platform industry this year.
Each year, the globally renowned specialist publication "International Cranes" lists the biggest crane rental companies in the world. Coming in at 24th, Prangl is the only representative from Austria in the top 25. In a European context, this means an outstanding 6th place. The annual analysis by "Kran & Bühne" magazine uses different parameters to compile its ranking. However, the picture is very similar. Prangl is counted among the top 6 crane companies in the German-speaking world.
When it comes to the aerial work platform sector, the situation is similarly pleasing. By putting it in position no. 8, "Kran & Bühne" has once again recognised Prangl as belonging to the elite across Austria, Germany and Switzerland. The latter was also confirmed by the "Access International" trade publication. Every year, the world's largest aerial work platform rental companies are rated here. Coming in at 46th, we are the only representative from Austria in the International comparison.
Management System
The entire group of companies has successfully completed the second monitoring audit of our Integrated Management System (IMS).
For many years now, we have been committed to staying at the cutting edge in the disciplines of health, safety, environment and quality. In order to be able to document this accordingly, we are certified according to ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001 and SSCP.
The standard-compliant implementation of these regulations also includes regular audits by external experts. This time, the second monitoring audit included the locations in Poggersdorf, Premstätten and Vienna as well as the depot in Budapest.
This time, we were again lauded and recognised by the external auditor. The entire group of companies received an unrestricted certification according to all the aforementioned standards and for all locations at home and abroad. Through this continuous improvement process, the Prangl team has made a major contribution to further advancing our IMS maturity level.
Recognition
Following Styria, a street in the federal capital is now also named after our company's founder Josef Prangl.
The streets of Vienna are historical documents. They bear witness not only to the history but also to the identity of the federal capital. Vienna's street names chronicle the character of the city and pay tribute to special people. The Culture Committee in Vienna City Hall decided to rename 16 streets. “An appreciative way to anchor personalities with outstanding merits in the public space and to commemorate them,” explains City Councillor for Culture Veronica Kaup-Hasler.
This honour has now also been bestowed on the founder of the Prangl Group, who died in 2014. With immediate effect, the new address of the company headquarters in Vienna Liesing is Josef-Prangl-Straße 8. Josef Prangl grew up in a small community in Styria. Before long, he gave up his job as a teacher and went to Vienna to be successful in business. He was a pioneer in the industry, a businessman with integrity. With a great deal of diligence, vision, courage and skill, he built up an internationally renowned industry player operating throughout Europe. “I am very proud of this recognition of my father's life's work,” says a delighted Christian Prangl, who has been successfully running the family business in its second generation.
AAA Validity
Excellent credit rating
Dun & Bradstreet is one of the leading providers of digital business information in Hungary and has many years of experience in granting certificates of creditworthiness. During a periodic audit, the creditworthiness of all Hungarian Prangl-companies has been rated as "AAA". This is the highest possible rating.
The excellent credit rating "AAA" represents the above-average financial strength of the company. Companies with this outstanding rating are distinguished by their above-average commercial performance.
The creditworthiness assessment is based on statistical models, which highlight the business capability of a company for the last three years and the current comparison period. This evaluates the security of business development in the coming months.
The certificate enables a company to be recognized as a trustworthy and reliable business partner and is used as a reference in business relationships with domestic and international business partners.
Prangl can use this abroad to demonstrate that it is one of the leading companies in this sector and that it can offer its customers reliable, long-term business capabilities.
TOP-EMPLOYER
In cooperation with Statista, kununu and Xing, "trend" magazine presents its ranking of the 300 best employers in Austria in 2021.
The exclusive award is based on over 220,000 evaluations spanning 20 industries. A total of more than 1,300 domestic companies with at least 200 employees were surveyed.
Prangl participated for the first time and instantly made it into the rankings. In the "Transport and Logistics" category, the company fell just short of the top 10 and was ranked 13th. "This ranking is something we are proud of, because it stems directly from our employees. It proves that our new 'BePrangl' personnel development programme has been warmly received and is bearing fruit," Christian Prangl said with delight.
Prangl has been a successful family business for more than 55 years and is deeply committed to quality and community. The new headquarters in Vienna provides a pleasant working atmosphere and promotes solidarity. At the beginning of the pandemic, employees were immediately encouraged to work from home. In addition, the numerous fringe benefits foster a good working atmosphere.
Prangl in Sweden
After years of activity in the country, Prangl is now establishing its own company in Sweden.
Based on the positive experience of recent years, Prangl is expanding its Scandinavian business. With Prangl Sverige AB in Stockholm an independent sales company is being set up in the far north. The unit there is seen not only for the Swedish market but also as a hub for neighbouring countries such as Finland, Denmark or Norway. The main focus is on the construction of wind turbines. But projects from other areas will also be gladly implemented.
Great Start!
Prangl has been named a "Great Start!" company for apprentices for a second time in succession.
Our apprentices rated our company and our trainers in the fields of credibility, respect, fairness, pride and team spirit. We are delighted to have received the "Great Start!" accolade for the second time in a row since 2018.
A company that takes on apprentices is only distinguished with the Great Place to Work® award after a review of the feedback provided by its apprentices, as well as a presentation of its apprenticeship concept. This concept includes topics such as the recruitment process and the integration of new apprentices, or measures to promote cooperation and communication within the company. Only if a company satisfies the criteria for every topic is it considered to offer apprentices a "Great Start!".
"Our experiences with our apprentices have been extremely good to date. This accolade further underlines the value of our apprenticeship training," enthuses Jasmina Stojanovic, apprentice manager at Prangl.
2020 EXPORT PRIZE
Domestic exporters impress with innovation and commitment. Every year, the Austrian Chamber of Commerce (WKÖ) awards the Export Prize to precisely
WKÖ President Harald Mahrer and Minister of Economic Affairs Margarete Schramböck honoured Austria's most successful export companies. The Export Prize is awarded to companies whose international commitment is indispensable for growth, prosperity and employment in Austria.
“Austria benefits massively from our exporters thinking outside the box and successfully selling their first-class products and services on international markets. All companies nominated have once again shown that crisis resistance, innovative strength and international growth orientation make the difference. Even during the crisis, our exporting companies have stayed on course,” says WKÖ President Harald Mahrer.
The award-worthiness of the over 200 entries was judged by an independent jury of experts. The trophy is awarded in six main categories. In the “Transport & Traffic” category, Prangl was awarded the Golden Export Prize this time, a recognition of the outstanding work of all employees at Prangl.
Management and media experts listened online and conducted a study to identify Austria's sustainable companies.
A study conducted between 01/09/2019 and 31/08/2020 provided the data for the quality seal awarded to "Austria's Sustainable Companies". During the course of the study, it was possible to identify and assign over 1 million mentions of the roughly 1,800 best-known companies in Austria.
Data acquisition took place in two stages. The experts took into account topics such as ecological, economic and social sustainability, reputation, technology and innovation for the purpose of the study. It is not enough to stand out in one dimension alone. Each of the topics taken into consideration is significant to the evaluation of the overall sustainability performance.
Accolades were awarded to a total of 422 companies nationwide. Prangl is one of 159 award-winning companies in the "Service" category. Quality seal holders are considered to be sustainable companies in many respects. They live up to their social responsibility and therefore serve as role models.
2nd place
... at the Constantinus Awards. The decision has been made!
The Constantinus Award brings the quality of advice from different areas into the limelight. Prizes are awarded to consulting companies and their customers. After completion of our major employer branding project "BePrangl", it was submitted in the category "Human Resources, Ethics and CSR".
Over the past two years, together with the consulting firm XERO, we have, launched a new, modern and innovative personnel development programme called "BePrangl" in keeping with the principle "A strong corporate brand becomes an unmistakable employer brand". In addition to many topics, the heart of the programme is an education and development campus with a certified team of trainers from our own ranks.
The top-class jury of experts has rewarded our efforts. "BePrangl" was awarded 2nd place. We are delighted with this great affirmation. Unfortunately, the festive award ceremony had to be cancelled due to the Corona pandemic.
